PETTYJOHN   ROUSE   SILLS

Researching the PETTYJOHN and SILLS that are buried in Hooker/Wildwood. My great grandfather James Harry SILLS was buried in Magill Cemetary in 1939 - not long ago; but I don't know who his father was. I only know his mother was named Katherine (Katie), she died in a flood in Chattanooga when James Harry SILLS was young. Jane PETTYJOHN wife of Jake was buried in Magill Cemetary in 1911/1912. Her daughter Elizabeth A. PETTYJOHN ROUSE was buried in the same cemetary but earlier than Jane. That is all I know about these people. Elizabeth A. PETTYJOHN born in GA in 1844 mar _______ ROUSE from GA. He died in TX around 1880/81. Their daughter Melissa Sue ROUSE was born in 1880 in TN. Melissa mar James Harry SILLS in 1875. Melissa is buried in Chattanooga, her father had been mar before. Does anyone know how to contact the Magill Cemetary in Hooker? They may have some records on these people. I would enjoy hearing from anyone about these families.Georgia Mathis Cummons   Dec 8, 1997

BICE   BREWER   McCORKLE   WILLIAMS

I am searching for information on the family of Isaac H. WILLIAMS. Isaac was born in NC in 1803. In 1850 he appears in Davidson County TN, 47 years old, as a carpenter. In 1860 he appears in the Dade County census with an address of Shellmound, TN as a barkeeper. In 1870 he appears in Trenton with his youngest son, James Henry listed as a retired carpenter. Isaac's children were all listed as being born in TN. Their names are: Isaac W., Robert T., Amanda M., Thomas J., Clarinda and James Henry (my direct descendent). Isaac was married to Clarinda McCorkle of NC. I am attempting to locate info on Isaac and also his children. I have a lot of information on James Henry and his line. James Henry married Henrietta Brewer and their children were listed as being born in GA except for one. At least one of his children is listed as being born in Rising Fawn, GA. James henry's children were: John Isaac, James Henry, George Lafayette, (my grandfather) Thomas Edward, Clarienda Luella, Elena Bell, and Molly (born in South Pittsburg, TN I believe) He also had two step children by a second marriage: Robert Franklin Bice & Juda Bice.{Names appearing as James Henry's childrens spouses were: Harvey, roland, Henson, McClanahan, Henry, Roehrig(my grandmother) Moon, Newman (Rising Fawn?) Floyd and Joyner. This is a difficult search. Why would Isaac appear in Dade Co. with a TN address? Larry G. Williams, 43 Crisp Lane, Trenton, GA 30752. 706-657-7778 Larry G. Williams  Mar 29, 1998
