CEMETERY Transcription for Douglas County, Georgia Located: Bankhead Highway, Douglasville, Ga. |
The
following inscriptions were copied by Joe Baggett in February 1977. The small cemetery is
adjacent what was then the Solid Rock Baptist Tabernacle, now the one-room West Douglas
Chapel of God, on Bankhead Highway west of Douglasville, .5 mi. west of Bright Star Road
at the quarry entrance.

(Note: Census records show that John Ergle, formerly of Lexington District, S.C., was born in 1815, not 1811. His wife was Mary Price of Lexington District. The Hix markers, made of a concrete-like material and painted with white paint, are almost illegible.)
