J.V. Jones of Madison County Message: I have been searching for my great-great grandmothers parents. I was told that her mother passed away the day she was born. In my research I found the Jones cemetery of Madison and located the gaves of the following: J.V.(Jerry Vaughn) Jones 3/29/1825-3/5/1908, first wife Martha 3/24/1825-10/4/1867, second wife Minta A. 7/9/1846-1/26/1907. This Martha Jones has the same name as my grandmother and died the day she was born. I am unable to locate information to prove a connection because my Grandmother was raised by an Aunt and never spoke of her father. I know that she had a brother that owned Jones Flower Shop in Athens but don't know his name. J.V. & Minta had a son Lampkin (Lonnie). If anyone has any information for the listed people I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you. |
