The George T.
Durrence Genealogy Room Named after former local historian and
educator, the George T. Durrence Genealogy Room is located inside the
Evans County Public Library on Highway 280 West in Claxton. The Durrence Genealogy Room contains historical maps of the area, microfilm of the 1920 census, microfilm of The Claxton Enterprise, family histories, and an excellent reference collection for genealogical research.
