ANDREW J. BURNETT'S SERVICES TUESDAY
Andrew Jackson (Andy) Burnett, 27, of Jack Miller Road, Rome, Rte. 2, was killed instantly at 2:15 p.m. Sunday when the car he was driving
was struck by a train.
Mr. Burnett was born in Gordon County, Sept. 20, 1936, son of George Adam and Fannie Elizabeth Chatmon Burnett and had been a resident of
Plainesville the greater part of his life.
He was a former employe of Ideal Roller Mfg. Co. and Pepperell Mfg. Co. but at the time of his death was employed by Dixie Belle Rug Mill
at Calhoun. A brother George Kenneth Burnett, was killed in an automobile accident in Chicago, Feb 23, 1961.
Survivors include a son, Keith Burnett, Calhoun; parents, Mr. and Mrs. George A. Burnett, Rome, Rte. 2; three brothers, Billy and Terry
Burnett, Rome, Rte. 2, and Bobby Burnett of Atlanta; one sister, Miss Betty Jo Burnett, Rome, Rte. 2; grandmother, Mrs. W. B. Burnett,
Scottsville and a number of aunts and uncles.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Plainsville Fellowship Baptist Church with the pastor, the Rev. Willard Willis and the
Rev. Dewitt Hunter, pastor of the Shannon First Baptist Church officiating. Interment will be in Franklin Cemetery, Scottsville. The body
was carried to the residence at 3 p.m. today to remain until the funeral hour.
Active pallbearers are Edward Martin, Levon Stephens, Jimmy Ray, Edward Paris, Russell Edwards and Jimmy Sutton. Honorary pallbearers
include Chester and Carlton Martin, Jack and Wyman Autry, Noah Weatherby, Buster Edwards, Paul Scott and Thomas Witt.
