Mrs. Bradford

Mrs. C.B. Bradford, 87, 17 Reece St. died Tuesday evening at a Rome hospital after a short illness. Mrs. Bradford, the former Elberta Ashby was a native of Bartow County, born Aug. 3, 1897, daughter of the late Hiram Charles and Elizabeth Dempsey Ashby. She was a member of North Rome Church of God, having taught in the Sunday school department for several years. She was recently honord by the church as having the longest attending membership. Mrs. Bradford was precedced in death by her husband, Clarence B. Bradford, Dec. 28, 1968, to whom she was married March 5, 1916. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. J.W. (Mary) McKenzie, Rome, Mrs. Margaret Wilson, Atlanta, six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday at North Rome Church of God, with the Rev. Walter Pettit officiating. Interment will be at Oakland Cemetery.
