Mrs. Padgett Dies; Rites Set

Mrs. Carra Padgett of 221 West Seventh Avenue, died at 8 o'clock last night following several weeks' illness. Born here, she had spent her whole life in the community. She was a member of the Mark McDonald Baptist Church.
Surviving are her husband, Early Padgett; two sons, Radioman 3/c J.C.Payne, USNR, and W. H. Payne, Rome; one daughter, Mrs. Martha Parks, San Diego, Calif.; seven sisters, Mrs. Mary E. Smith, Rome; Miss Emma Garrison, Miss Lily Garrison, Mrs. Louise Abbie, Mrs. Betty Green and Mrs. Ebbie Lyles, all of Okalahoma; seven brothers, L.A. Garrison of Rome; R.B., W.S., C.S.,Abe, Jim and Singleton Garrison of Oklahoma and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 3 o'clock tomorrow afternoon in the North Broad Baptist Church, with the Rev. O.E. Rutland officiating. Interment will be in the East View Cemetery. The remains will rest at the residence from tomorrow morning until the time of service.
The following will serve as pallbearers and are requested to meet at the residence: John Williams, Asa Burnes, John Howell, Allen Williams, Mark Sauls and Tom Hasty.
