Frank S. Dean Dies Suddenly
Frank Starke Dean, of Atlanta, native of Rome and relative of a number of local residents, died suddenly Sunday at his summer home in Highlands, N.C.
He was retired vice-president of the Atlanta Plow Company, and for many years was active in Atlanta, business, civic and social life.
Mr. Dean was born in Rome 68 years ago, attending public schools here. He went to Atlanta at 18 years of age, and for several years was associated with
the King Hardware Company. He helped re-organize the old Southern Agricultural Company into the Atlanta Plow Company, serving as vice-president until his
retirement eight years ago.
He was a member of the All Saints Episcopal Church and was a member and past president of the Druid Hills Golf Club.
Surviving him as his widow; two daughters, Mrs. Edward Wright and Miss Marion Dean, three sons, F.S., Jr., Lewis and Henry White Dean.
Funeral services will be held in Atlanta, probably on Tuesday. A number of Rome relatives have gone to Atlanta to attend services.
Mr. Dean was the brother of the late Linton A. , Edward and Abner Dean, and the late Mrs. Robert Towers, Romans. His other sister was the late Mrs. Georg
Shuford, of Asheville, N.C.
