\par \cf1\f1 J. Edgar Everett, 79, Old Calhoun Road, died Tuesday morning in a Rome hospital following several months illness.
\par He was born June 25, 1898, in Blairsville, son of the late Thomas D. Everett and Martha Seabolt Everett. He had resided most of his life in Rome and Floyd County, and was a member of New Antioch Baptist Church. Prior to retirement, he was employed with Wiseman Bakery.
\par Survivors include the widow, the former Claudia Lewis, two sons, James Everett, Doraville, and J. M. Everett, Rome; one daughter, Mrs. Ollie Mae Metcalf, Rome; one sister, Mrs. Ollie Shope, Shannon; nine grandchildren.
\par Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in New Antioch Baptist Church with the Rev. Wayne Hamrick officiating.
\par Interment will be in East View Cemetery.
\par The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m today in Jennings Funeral Home, and at other hours will be at the residence. The body will lie in state at the church from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday.
\par Pallbearers will be Floyd Fortenberry, Earl Everett, Arnold Everett, Floyd Womack, Geston Womack and Henry Taylor.\cf0
