  Mrs. Jean Mitchell Thomas, age 77, of Rome, formerly of Cedartown, passed away Tuesday, July 20, 1999. Mrs. Thomas was born 
Oct. 14, 1921 in Cleburne County, Alabama. She was a member of the First Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her 
husband Carl Eugene Thomas, Sr., and parents, Fair Gilmer and Strawdy Mitchell. Survivors include sons, Carl E. Thomas, Jr. 
and John David Thomas, sister, Sara Ivey of Gadsden, Ala.; brother, Allen Mitchell of Gadsden, Ala.; and two grandchildren. 
Grave side services were held Thursday, July 22, at 11 a.m. from Northview Cemetery. Gammage Funeral Home was in charge of the
