\par \cf1\f1 John M. Wilson, 81, former Roman, died in Veterans Hospital in Atlanta at 6:30 p.m. Monday following an illness of several years. \par Mr. Wilson was born in Cherokee County, Ala. Feb. 29, 1876, son of the late Francis Marion Wilson and Eliza Jane South Wilson but had been a resident of Rome the greater part of his life. \par He was a well known textile employee and a veteran of the Spanish American War. He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Miss Daphine Irene Lipham Oct. 30, 1956. \par Survivors include two sons, Mavis of Marietta; Melvin of San Diego, Calif.; and one step-son Marvin Brewer, Detroit, Mich.; three brothers, Willie Franklin Wilson, Canton, Joe Wilson, \par Dallas, Ga., and Julius S. Wilson, Gadsden, Ala. Three grandchildren also survive. \par Funeral services will be held at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Jennings Funeral Home with Elders L. W. Spink and Joe Brock officiating. \par Inerment will be in Pisgah Cemetery. The body will lie in state at the funeral home until time for services. \par Pallbearers include Howard Ford, Lee Richardson, Melvin McBurnett, Leroy Whorton, Charlie McJunkin and Ray Horton.<\cf0\f0 BR>\par \pard\cf1\f1\par \par \par \pard\sb100\sa100 \cf0 \cf1\par }
