\f1 John Thomas Hyde, 68, of 19 Melody Lane, died Wednesday morning at a Rome hospital. \par
Mr. Hyde was born in Bartow County on March 26, 1926, son of the late William Henry Hyde and the late Annie Leona Kenney Hyde. He was a longtime resident of Floyd County and attended New Canaan Baptist Church. He was a member of Cherokee Masonic Lodge 66, F&AM. Prior to retirement in 1970, he was employed by Fairbanks Co. He was an Army veteran, having served in World War II and served in the Marine Corp Reserves. He was married Oct. 15, 1949 to Millie Louvena Eaton Hyde, who preceded him in death, March 28, 1975. \par
Survivors include a daughter, Melinda Holder, Rome; three sisters, Evelyn Tidmore, Myrtle Boatwright and Viola Edwards, all of Rome; a granddaughter; a stepgrandson. \par
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Fred Talley's Parkview Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Edward Holsomback officiating. \par
Interment will be at Oaknoll Memorial Gardeson with Cherokee Masonic Lodge 66, F&AM conducting Masonic graveside rites.\f0
