Mrs. Thrash

Mrs. Katie Estelle Thrash, 94, Rte. 4 Chulio Road, formerly of East 19th Street, died Friday morning at a Rome rest home.
Mrs. Thrash was born in Floyd County, Sept. 20, 1889, daughter of the late Jeff and Mary Elizabeth Drummond Freeman. She was a member of Pleasant Valley North Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Wright Thrash, Sr., to whom she was married Jan. 16, 1909, on Sept. 3, 1967.
Survivors include three sons, J.W. Thrash, Jr., William E. Thrash and Herman Thrash, all of Rome; three daughters, Mrs. Albert Vaughan, Marietta, Mrs. H. M. Stephens and Mrs. J. L. Newton, both of Rome; 12 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. today at the chapel of Daniel's Funeral Home with the Revs. Willard (unreadable) and (unreadable) Chandler officiating. Interment will be at East View Cemetery.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers and include James Howell, Scott Howell, Dwight Vaughan, Glenn Thrash, Eddie Stephens, Allen Stephens, Tim Thrash and Gary Thrash.
