Mrs. Burkett, 42, To Receive Last Rites on Friday
Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Agnes Burkett, 42, will be conducted Friday afternoon at 3 o'clock from the chapel of the Emmett Cole funeral home.
Interment will be in the Oakland cemetery. Mrs. Burkett's body was found on the banks of the Etowah river Wednesday morning and coroner's jury, upon
investigation, returned a verdict of death from drowning with suicidal intent. Relatives declared that she had been in ill health for some time and her act
was attributed to this cause. She is survived by the following children: Floyd, Lawrence, Howard, A. C., and Estelle, of Rome; and Marshall, of Port
Arthur, Texas. The following friends will act as pall bearers and are requested to meet at the funeral home at 2:30 o'clock: A. L. Lester, H. R. Lester,
Marvin Tate, A. R. Johnson, L. P. Welch, and J. L. Hall.
