\f1 Owen Alvin Tolbert, Sr. 68, of Huffaker Road, Rome Rte. 1, died Tuesday in a Rome hospital following an illness of eight weeks. \par
Mr. Tolbert was born in Sharp County, Ark., July 23, 1901, son of the late William and Alice Hicks Tolbert, but had been a resident of Rome and Floyd County for the past 64 years and prior to retirement was engaged in farming in the Lavender community. He was a member of the Mt. Alto Baptist Church. \par
Survivors include three sons, Ray Tolbert, Rome, Owen Alvin Tolbert, Jr., Austell, and Alfred Jason Tolbert, Lindale; two sisters, Mrs. Herman Peace, Rome and Mrs. Essie Adams, Chattanooga, Tenn.; one brother, Noah Tolbert, Henfengar, (Henagar)Al; sister-in-law, Mrs. Dorsey Ray, Rome Rte. 1, and eight grandchildren. \par
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Jennings Funeral Home with the Revs. Max Tucker and Carl L. Curry officiating. \par
Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Cedartown. \par
The body will remain at the funeral home and the family will receive friends there from 7 until 9 p.m. today. At other times they will be at the residence of a son, Ray Tolbert, Pine Village Mobile Homes. \par
Pallbearers include, Gary, Jimmy and Jason Tolbert, John D. Long, J. H. Cooper and Tommy Carpenter.\f0
