Mr. Stanley Thomas Bailey
Mr. Stanley Thomas Bailey, age 49, of 232 Pinson Road in the Shannon community, died early Monday morning at a local healthcare facililty following an
illness of several years.
A native of Rome and Floyd County, Mr. Bailey was born Sept. 13, 1952, a son of Robert F. Bailey and Johnnie Winkle Bailey. He spent his early years in
this area and was an avid fisherman. Mr. Bailey served with the U.S. Navy for four years with his last duty assignment as a fireman aboard the USS Vulcan.
He was of the Baptist faith.
Mr. Bailey is survived by his parents, Robert and Johnnie Bailey of the Shannon community; his two brothers, Donald and Rickey Bailey, both of the Rome
area; a special aunt, Margaret Stansell; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mr. Bailey will be at 1 p.m. this afternoon in the Heritage Chapel of the Jennings Funeral Home with the Rev. Drew Brown and Mr. J.
Parnick Jennings, Sr.officiating. Interment will follow in the family graveside (site?) at Floyd Memory Gardens with the Honor Guard of Shanklin-Attaway
American Legion Post #5 in charge of military graveside rites. Friends may contact the family at the resident, 232 Pinson Road.
Cousins will serve as pallbearers and should meet at the funeral home this afternoon at l:40 p.m.
