\par William D. Hyde Dies Suddenly; Rites Set Today

\par William D. Hyde, 57, Rome Route 6, died suddenly in a local hospital at 2:35 p.m. Friday, following a heart attack suffered a few minutes earlier.\par Mr. Hyde was born in Bartow County June 22, 1895, son of the late Tanty and Ollie Studdard Hyde and had lived in Floyd County the greater part of his life. At the time of his death he was a bus driver for the county school system. He was a veteran of World War I and an active member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. \par Surviving are the widow, the former Miss Annie Ethel Penson, to whom he was married Oct. 5, 1913; two sons, Raymond H. and W. D. Hyde, Jr., both of Rome, one daughter, Mrs. J. H. Rogers, Lindale; one step-son, L. C. Cope, Rome; one brother, Joe Hyde, of Fairmount;one half-brother, Gordon Hyde, Fairmount. Eight grandchildren also survive.\par Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today at the Mispah Methodist Church with the Rev. Willard Willis, the Rev. Russell Head and the Rev. C. P. Gresham officiating. \par Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery. \par The body will lie in state at the residence until time for the service.\par Active pallbearers will be Charlie Glenn, Homer Pope, R. L. Baker, Tom Mobley, Alzo Shelley and Claude Robinson. Honorary pallbearers will be Sam Brewer, J. T. Leath, John and Early Cussort, Gilmore Johnson, Bob Scoggin, J. Battle Hall, Chastine Parker, Griffin Burton, Frank Jackson, Will Roland, Doyal Morris, Shorty Hicks, A. L. Barker, Billy T. Hicks, and Lewis Sullins.
