\par \cf1\f1 \cf0 William Hugh Hartley, 53, Donahoo Road; Silver Creek Rte. 1 died at 6 p.m. Saturday in a Rome Hospital following a short illness. \par Mr. Hatley was born in Floyd County, Jan. 12, 1920, son of the late Julie Wofford Hartley and the late Giden Hartley. \par He spent the greater part of his life in Rome and Floyd County. For the last five years he was employed at the Floyd County Correctional Institution as maintenance engineer. \par He was a member of Collard Valley Baptist Church and a veteran of World War II. \par Survivors include his wife, the former Hollis Wofford, to whom he was married in 1963; mother Mrs. Julie Hartley of Rome; a number of nieces and nephews. \par Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in New Bethel Congregational Methodist Church, the Revs. Belton Deems and Frank Sharpe officiating. \par Burial will be in Pleasant Hope Cemetery. \par The body will lie in state at the residence. Pallbearers include J. L. Roberson, Gary and Larry Bowman, Frankie Hall, Ray Smith and D. L.
