1.  WILLIAM1 GUNTER was born WFT Est. 1273-1427 in MONMOUTHSHIRE, WALES (OF ABERGA, and died WFT Est. 1453-1513.  He married ELIZABETH GETHIN WFT Est. 1298-1461 in WALES?.

BIRT PLAC MONMOUTHSHIRE, WALES (OF ABERGAVENNE)
Ref "Gunter" book Pg 21.  Appear to have a conflict as too large a span for
John b. 1480 to be grandson of John of Abergavenne? His son William appears to
have abeen born c. 1320? so his other son Henry should be b around this time.
If Henry born 1321 he would have to be 160 years old when he had John b 1480?
Appears we need a link between Henry & John b. 1480?? Of course the Marriage
date of William to Matilda could be in error?

Notes for ELIZABETH GETHIN:
SOUR: Two sources-one indicates ? Gwelliam, dau of Howell Gethin.  The other ha
Elizabeth, dau to .....Ovrbeth.

iii. WILLIAM GUNTER, b. 1320, WALES?; d. WFT Est. 1321-1410.

Notes for WILLIAM GUNTER:
Ref "Gunter" book Pg 21 which has Wm marrying Matilda (?) April 1336.
Maybe this is an error and marriage took place 1436? We have too much time
difference between Henry & Wm's age compared to date John (Henry's son) was
born 1480?

3. iv. HENRY GUNTER, b. 1450, OF ANDOVER IN HA; d. WFT Est. 1483-1541.

John Jr.'s 1800 Moore Co Census shows one female living in household to be
over 45 yrs old.  This should be first wife Pricilla but he may be living with
Jane prior to marrying her? Jane's father, Robert refers to his dau as Jane

We

Do not know if children are first or second wife. There is a Priscilla Gunter

Compiler has quite a few doubts as to data furnished on this James on p.140 of
"GUNTER" book?  If we estimate age based on 1800 census, James would appear to
have a son Malcolm with a grandson b.1801?? This makes James only 10 when his
grandson was born??  Also George #2625 b.1800 when James was only 9?? Then we
have a Sam B Gunter #2626 b.1854 which is 54 years after George?? While no
DOB given for James, census seems to support ca 1791? If his father b.1770 we
can not move James much further back.

I take issue with the "Gunter" bk p.140 as to Lemuel (Samuel) Gunter being a
son of James!  Kay Gunn research provides a William Gunter as the more likely
parent of Lemuel.  James b. 1794 could not possibly be Lemuel's father.
