According to Irene Moench, her grandmother told her that when William and Eliza were first married, they went to Alabama. Eliza rode on a pillow behind William on a horse. They didn't like Alabama so they came back to Georgia and settled in Forsyth County.
William spoke Cherokee but Eliza didn't.
