John Adam Miller & His Family

John Adam Miller was an early resident of Franklin County, Georgia, he was married to Seleta/Seleter. They had children: James, Dicey, Uriah, Cinthey/Cynthia, Asa R., Mary Ann, Robert H. and John. It is believed that John Adam came to Franklin County in about 1808, by 1818 he was deceased. An appraisal was done of his estate in January 1818. I descend from Asa R. Miller, son of John Adam.

Asa R. Miller was b. about 1798, he married Sudicey Holley in Franklin County on March 6, 1817 and died March 2, 1879 in Franklin County. They had the following children:

  1. Joel T. Miller b. about 1820, married Francis (?)
  2. Elizabeth Miller, b. about 1824, married William Meeler
  3. Fletcher Miller, born about 1825, married Jane James
  4. William A. Miller b. about 1826, Franklin County, married Susannah Williams
  5. James Miller b. about 1828, married Mary L. C. Ash
  6. Rebecca Miller b. about 1830 in Franklin County
  7. Sarah Miller b. about 1832 in Franklin County
  8. Nancy J. Miller born about 1835 in Franlin County
  9. Asa Franklin Miller b. November 1836 in Franklin County, married Desina Jane McWhirter March 28, 1858 in Franklin County
  10. Sudicy Amanda. Miller b. about 1839 Frankin County, married William Harris

Asa Franklin Miller, son of Asa R. Miller and Sudicey Holley, married Desina Jane McWhirter who was daughter of James McWhirter and Desina Fowler. Asa F. and Desina had 10 children all born in Franklin County and moved to Texas about 1884/1885. They had the following children:

  1. Richard Miller b. about 1858, died as a baby
  2. James Luden Miller, b. June 1859, married Alma Stickland
  3. Patrick Frank Miller b. 1863, married Sally Seine
  4. Thomas Perriman Miller b. 1864, married Estelle Smith
  5. Robert Morgan Miller b. 1868, married Mary Olive Vine Davis
  6. Cora Lee Miller, b. 1870 married Walter Fallis
  7. Lilly Miller b. 1872, married John Key
  8. Lucile Miller b. 1875, married Rufus Howarton
  9. Jai Columbus Miller b. 1879, married Ellen Boling
  10. John Calhoun Miller, b. July 28, 1882, married Martha Lou Hill

John Calhoun Miller, youngest child of Asa R. Miller and Desina Jane McWhirter, moved to Texas with his family about 1884/1885. He lived in Upshur and Camp Counties of Texas and Sevier County, Arkansas. John married Martha Lou Hill and raised 8 children in Texas and Arkansas. I am his grandaughter by his fifth child, Earl James Miller who died July 14, 1995.
