Unknown I'm trying to determine the birth date and death date of my grandmother on my mother's side of the family. She was called Ovie and we are just guessing that her first name was Olivia, her last name was Chalker, She married Henry Page around 1916 or 1917, She died around 1922, in Glascock county, Gibson, Ga. They had four children, John D Page, Katherine (Katie) Page, Margaret Page and Dorothy Page. Ovie's father was Daniel(Bud) Chalker. We think she was buried in the Magnolia Springs Baptist Church Cemetery, but the grave is unmarked. My mother Katie Page Waller wants to find her birth date and death date and hopefully the grave site, so she can mark her grave, before she dies. MY mother is 76 Yrs old. I would appreciate any help you can give us. We have hit a dead end. Please e-mail me if you can be of assistance.

Barney Usry(my gg-grandfather was born in Gibson, or so I was

noted 1886 Barney born in Gibson. I am going to visit Gibson with my

JOHN KELLY and HANNAH MOON FAMILY
John Kelly and Hannah Moon were already married and living in Hancock
County, Georgia at the death of her father Richard Moon Sr. in 1795.
Richard Moon Sr. and his wife Susannah resided in the Shoulderbone Creek
District in Hancock Co. in 1794. At his death Richard Moon Sr. owned 100
acres in the Shoulderbone Creek area of Hancock County, Georgia and 120
acres in Guilford County, North Carolina. Richard Moon Sr. lived in the Long Creek District(GMD 154) of Wilkes County, Georgia in 1790 and owned 63 acres in Greene County, Georgia.
When and where did John Kelly and Hanna Moon marry? Who were their
children? I would like to contact: Mr. Robert Davidson, Box 121 Doodletown Road, Ancram, N. Y. 12502
who wrote "Notes on a Kelley Family of Georgia" in April 1978.
I have been unsuccessful in writing to the above address which was valid
in 1978.
JOHN KELLY AND WIFE ELIZABETH, WARREN COUNTY, GEORGIA: 1794-1797 John Kelly and his wife Elizabeth were living on the east side of the Ogeechee (GMD 1169) near Mitchell, Georgia, in Warren County, in 1794. This area is now in Glascock County. This area was in Columbia County from December 1790 to December of 1793. On January 21, 1794 John Kelly purchased 300 acres bounded on the Southwest by the Ogeechee River from Garland, Jean, Mary, and Sarah Morgan. On October 23, 1797 John and Elizabeth Kelly sold this property to John Hillson. There is no John Kelly listed in GMD 1169 in 1801. Did John Kelly die before 1801 or did he migrate from this area? Who are the children of John and Elizabeth Kelly?
JOHN KELLY: WARREN COUNTY, GEORGIA : DIED 1804 In the book "Information on Some Georgia Pioneers" written by Joseph T. Maddox it is noted on page 107 there is a John Kelly, head of household who died in Warren County in 1804. He is said to be the son of William Kelly. I have been unable to find a public record of his death or estate administration. Where does his death date come from? Who were his wife and children?

Paul W. Neal Fri, 30 Jan 1998 20:06:08 EST My ancestors lived in the Glasscock, Warren, Mcduffie county areas of Georgia, I have a Great Uncle, John William Neal who lives in Norwood Georgia. I'm trying to confirm my family lineage which begins with Thomas Neal and his wife Susanna Harrell, (thats as far back as I can trace so far) he was born around 1735 in Penn. or Ireland. Originally settled in South Carolina, and served in the Revolutionary War. Had a son David NeaL who was married to Joyce McCormick, he served in the Revolutionary war as well. He also had a son who's name was Thomas Neal. Thomas Neal appears on the 1850 census as being 60 years of age with other family members and a son who also is named Thomas, this thomas is 17 in 1850. This Thomas married Hero J. Adkins in 1871 and had three children, John William Neal (who went by the nickname of Tim), Tom Roy, and Gertrude. Tim Neal married Della Irby, and they are both buried in Scruggs Cemetary in Norwood. I have visited a family grave site across the street from a Mr. Magahee , where there are numerous Adkins graves, as well as a David Phillips and a Confederate gravestone with the name Thomas F. Neal, Co. D, Fifth Georgia Infantry Regiment . So as far as I can tell the lienage is: Thomas Neal (married to Susannah) he died around 1799 father of David Neal (married to Joyce) he died in 1811, also was sheriff of Warren county, father of Thomas (married to unknown) the 1850 census shows him to be 60 years old and father of Thomas F. Neal who married Hero J. Adkins Their children John William (Tim) Neal, Gertrude who married a Peter Knox, and Tom Roy Neal. If anyone can add to this or confirm it please contact me as soon as possible. Email : Msgardnr@aol.com

"One of the oldest settlers of that part of Warren County, Georgia, subsequently cut off and erected into Glascock County, was John Kelley, a native of Ireland who located about one mile from where the town of Gibson now stands, in the year 1775. He grew to be a planter of fair means and raised a rather numerous family."
John (Red) Kelley is believed to be the son of this John Kelley and was born in Glascock County, Georgia, on March 29, 1805. He married Martha Ann Franklin. After having their first child, Daniel W. Kelley (1830), they
moved in 1833 to neighboring Alabama. I would like to know more about these two "John's" and to know if John (Red) Kelley had any siblings, and if he did, who they were. Thanks!!

Surnames: SEALS, WILCHER
Hello! I am writing because I am trying to find some information on my great-grandparents in Glascock Co. There was a man by the name of Frank Seals who married Alice Wilcher. According to other family members they were married in Mitchell, GA in 5/10/1981. Please verify this information if you can.
I would also like to know if you can assist me in finding the names of their parents. Frank A. Seals was mixed, but I don't know if his father or his grandfather was white. In reviewing Glascock Co. records online I did see a William A. Seals. "William" has been a family name for generations, so I'm wondering if he was related to Frank Seals. I also noticed that William A. Seals did have an illegitimate child with Sarah Boyd. (?)
Any assistance you could provide would be greatly appreciated.
Surnames: UTLEY
My father was Joe Utley and I had the pleasure of meeting him once. I was very young, nine years old, when my mother took me from Omaha, Nebraska to Oklahoma City for our introduction.
That summer I remember the road trip that ended in or near Augusta, Georgia. But I don’t remember a name or face.
My next memory was a phone call in February informing us of his death. My final memory is a courthouse in Oklahoma City where I saw a family that I do not know arguing issues that I did not understand.
Well now I am a father of two beautiful children and I want to get to know a man that for whatever reasons was not in my life as a child. Trust me when I say I am sure that there are reasons that he wasn’t there, I know my mother and she is a trying person. Trust me I old no bad feelings, I am thankful for the little time that I did have with him.
What I am praying for is that this email reaches the right person/persons. I am hoping to meet, converse or fellowship with my family. I am again praying that you will respond to my request to tell me a story or two that I might carry with me. I am praying that I might meet the family that I do not know and start a new chapter in my life.
Sincerely Yours,
Evan P. Simpson

Looking for any INFORMATION about or an old PICTURE of BASTONVILLE SCHOOL in
Glascock County.
I was 2 years old when my sister went to that school. It is in total ruins
today but at one time was a beautiful brick building schoolhouse.
Here's a little history to jog your memory:
Bastonville School was built in 1919 on land that Fannie Irene Sturgis and
Mattie Barksdale donated to the Glascock County Board of Education on October
27, 1919. Mrs. Martha Silas of Gibson GA taught in the second school that
was built in 1938-1939 asw a first year teacher. It was built next to the
home of Hodge Newsome who married a Barksdale. The second school was built
during the school year 1937-1938 on a different site on the McNair land later
purchased by Sheriff English. That school burned between 1940 and 1944 and
was rebuilt on the same site.

I have a question about an entry in Marriage Book A, Glascock County Genweb. There is an entry for the marriage of Joseph L. Peebles and Eliza Kelley, married October 9, 1860. Actually, there are two entries for this
marriage. My question is, could the date be later, like 1870 or thereabouts? The 1910 Glascock census shows an entry for Joseph L. Peebles and Eliza. His age is shown as 60, hers 59. It shows that they have been married for
40 years. I know it's possible that this is a different Joseph and Eliza, but I want to be sure because I find no other marriage of the two names. If there is some way to check it, I would surely appreciate
it. Thank you, Jeanne Mills

Katie Cooper Johnson married Simon Claude Thigpen. Their daughter was my mother, Katie Inez Thigpen Nash. The family of James and Rebecca
Cooper appeared in the 1870 Census in Glascock Co but do not show up in 1880. Would like any info on this family, where they went, other offspring, where they are buried, etc. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks! Rosalind Nash Robert

My name is Gina Sammons. My grandmother is Georgia Morgan Sammons. Her
Father's name is John M. Morgan. We know he was "adopted" by the Lamb
family. We don't know whether it was a legal adoption or not. He married
Isabell Lamb, who lived with him in the Lamb household as a child. Her
youngest brother's name is Robert Lamb who just died in or around 1993. I am
31 years old and I remember going to church with him when I was a child. If
anyone has any information about how John Morgan became a part of the Lamb
family or knows Robert Lamb's Father's name or Mother's maiden name please

The person I’m researching is named George Pearson, my paternal grandfather. I know very little about him. Born in the late 1890’s. Died around 1938. George’s father was white, but his mother was mulatto. I’ve heard conflicting stories. Some say his mother was a Pearson, and some say his father was actually the Pearson. George’s father died from being thrown from a horse, and striking his head somehow. His father lived on a large plantation in Glascock, from what I understand. George was given a chance to stay on the Plantation after his father died, but decided to leave. He later lived in Warren County.

My GF George Pearson lived on a large farm in Glascock County. George’s father died in a horse-riding accident. I do not know the year. George left the farm. Based on info from the 1930 Census, George married my grandmother in 1925, and was living as a farmer in 1930 in Glascock County. Recently, I heard a story which was told to my father by my late Aunt Mary Hill. She stated that she once met a man from Glascock County named Mr. Johnson, and he told her that he was her uncle. If this story is correct, then my Great Grandfather was a Johnson, and not a Pearson. I know this is a long-shot, but does any of this sound familiar? I have been researching my family tree for years now, but I could never find anything on my father’s family. I can only trace them 2 generations at best. If you know anything which would help me confirm, then it would be greatly appreciated.

I descend from my grandparents, William C. (Carlton?) McCrary and Anna Belle Kitchens. Anna Bell was the daughter of Gary Newton Kitchens and the granddaughter of Aaron Kitchens all of Glascock, Warren, and Washington Counties, Ga. My gggrandfather, Ezra McCrary witnessed documents for the Kitchens family and vice versa. Jack Kitchens' daughter is mentioned in a Civil War letter written by Ezra's son, Bartley McCrary (original now in Savanah Historical archives). The two families seemed to have been close and consequently as was the case in those times, intermarried. I can find no more information on my grandmother, Anna Belle Kitchens than her census record while a member of Garry Kitchens' household. My father, James McCrary, was born in 1911 and she is not listed with the family of William C. McCrary and 4 children on the 1920 census. My father's military records show that William C. McCrary was living in Dublin, Ga in 1937, but I can find nothing more of him before or after that. If any of this is familiar to you and/or you can help me or give me any guidance for further research I would greatly appreciate it. I am retired from the USAF and living permanently in England so research is a bit restricted. One person who has helped me greatly by giving me the names mentioned here is Hubert Kitchens who lives in Macon, Ga.

Charleston,SC, maybe? But Jane had four more sons after Jasper's death, my great grandfather being one of those sons. But we do not have a clue
as to the father of these last four sons. There doesn't seem to be a marriage record for her after Jasper's death; only a pension request
