The Georgia GenWeb Project

In March and April, 1996, a group of genealogists organized the Georgia Comprehensive Genealogy Database. The idea was to provide a single entry point for all counties in Georgia, where collected databases would be stored. In addition, the databases would be indexed and cross-linked, so that even if an individual were found in more than one county, they could be located in the index. At the same time, volunteers were found who were willing to coordinate the collection of databases and generally oversee the contents of the web page.

My name is Wayne Dorough at and I am the person responsible for Glascock County. If you would like to contribute your information to this page, please let me know. If you would like to host a county, contact , the State Coordinator, Ed Gordon, at edeye1@hotmail.com.  The Assistant State Coordinator is Linda Blumb at lblumb@gmail.comt.  The Regional Coordinator for the East Central Region is Nancy Gay Crawford at MeMeC@alltel.net.

For facinating reading on the migration of early families into this region of Georgia, please visit The Quaker Migration to the South published by the Southern Quaker Genealogy. Other excellent links and reading sources along these same lines are The American Revolution in Georgia, and Our Georgia History
