STATE OF GEORGIA, COUNTY OF GRADY
THIS INDENTURE, made and entered into the Fifth day of January in the year of our Lord, One Thousand Nine
Hundred and Forty-two between T. I. Johnson, Mrs. T. I. Johnson, Mrs. Mettie Mae Stephens, Mrs. Maggie Lou
Poppell, T. A. Johnson, Mrs. Annie Lois Stephens, Mrs. Lottie Lee Elkins, and James Herman Johnson, parties of the
first part, and GEORGE G. THOMAS, JR., party of the second part: WITNESSETH: That the said parties of the
first part, for and in consideration of the sum of SIXTEEN HUNDRED DOLLARS ($1,600.00) in hand paid, the
receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, hath granted, sold and conveyed unto the said GEORGE G. THOMAS, JR.,
his heirs and assigns, all the tract or parcel of land situate, lying and being in the County of Grady as follows: Those
parts of lots of land Numbers 30 and 31, in the 22nd. District of Grady County, Georgia, which lies North of a certain
branch known as Maxwell Branch, and East of a public road leading from Calvary South: Also, one acre being west
of said road just in front of house and which is east of an old road; said parcel of land containing 125 acres more or
less: EXCEPT three acres, more or less situated between public road running south from Calvary through lot
Number 30 to Maxwell Branch, and public road running south from Henry Butler's place through lot Number 30 to
intersect with the first named road, and said exception is bounded on the North by original lot line of said lot, on the
East and West by the two roads above named, and on the south by a line running due east and west between said
roads above named at a point which would be ten feet north of the northernmost tip of present tobacco barn, and
having situate thereon one small dwelling house. Said property herein conveyed being bounded on North by lands
hereinabove excepted and original lot lines of lots of land numbers 30 and 31, on the East, southeast, and south by
run of Maxwell Branch, and on the West by Public road running south from Calvary through said lot Number 30 to
Maxwell Branch and lands belonging to Joe Maxwell and Joe Hidgon Estate. ALSO: Syrup works consisting of
cane mill, evaporator, and engine, and, also: all plow tools. WHICH TRACT OR PARCEL OF LAND, the said T. I.
JOHNSON, MRS. T. I. JOHNSON, MRS. METTIE MAE STEPHENS, MRS MAGGIE LOU POPPELL, T. A.
JOHNSON, MRS. ANNIE LOIS STEPHENS, MRS. LOTTIE LEE ELKINS, AND JAMES HERMAN JOHNSON
will well and truly warrant and defend from the claim of all persons whatsoever, unto the said GEORGE G.
THOMAS, JR., his heirs and assigns, forever in fee simple.

Mrs. Lottie Lee Elkins and James Herman Johnson have hereunto set their hands and seals, on the day and year first
