A.J. Joiner
The Cairo Messenger, April 14, 1905

In Memoriam
Our beloved brother, A. J. Joiner, a long and consistent member of Pine Level Baptist Church, who was born Oct. 14, 1827; departed this life and was gathered to the house of his Fathers on Oct 25th, 1904 leaving behind him a record worthy to be followed by all his fellow men, and a vacancy never to be filled in the hearts of those who knew and loved him best. At the early age of sixteen he was baptized in the fellowship of the Summer Hill Church and from there he removed to Evergreen Church in Miller county. That was in 1850, and became one of the pillars of that faithful body. At the time of his death he was united with the Pine Level Church in Decautr Co. He had been ordained a deacon. His remains were interred in Camilla, Ga. "After life's fitful fever he rests well." May we all follow in his footsteps, and reach the promised land. By the Commitee,
J. W. Rich
