Scroggs, Samuel Damascus Jr.
S.D. Scroggs, age 83, of Cornelia, died Thursday, November 7, 2002, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.  He was born in Habersham County and
was the son of the late Samuel Damascus Sr. and Della Martin Scroggs.  He was the retired owner and operator of Scroggs Tire Company. He was a
farmer and was retired from Habersham County School System as a bus driver with 28 years service. Scroggs was a member of the
Soque Wheelers Square Dances and the Sheriff's Posse. He was a member of Level Grove Baptist Church and the Caleb's Clan Sunday school class.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Earl Scroggs, Ray Scroggs and Howard Scroggs; sisters, Blanche Stephens and Ola Belle Herrin Hallford;
and a grandson. Survivors include his wife, Elsie Harrison Scroggs, Cornelia; daughter, Marcia S. Sorrow, Colbert; son, Clint Scroggs, Alto; brother,
Bascomb Scroggs, and a grandson.   Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm, Friday, November 8, 2002, at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel
in Baldwin. The Reverend Clyde Garrison and the Reverend Terry Rice will officiate. Burial will be in Yonah Memorial Gardens. *****Submitted
