Possum Pickin' Bluegrass Concert
Where: Head Avenue, between Hwy 78 and Lyon Street in Tallapoosa, GA
When: 7:00, 7:45 and 8:30 PM (Traffic is blocked 6 PM - 9:30 PM)
Possum Pickin' Bluegrass features Joe & Melanie Johnson Band, Southland
Sound and Buncombe String Band with Virgil Seagle. An added
attraction will be Clerk of Court, Dorothy Bentley Parker and husband
Bobby, singing gospel music. Dorothy is one of our office seekers
invited to participate. (We could have more entertainment from the
politicos, but they are not allowed to make a political speeches.) Bring
a folding chair. We'll have some door prizes and we'll sell hot dogs,
popcorn, soft drinks and water to benefit improvement projects of the
Better Hometown Committee of the Downtown Development Authority.

When: 7:00, 7:45 and 8:30 PM (Traffic is blocked 6 PM - 9:30 PM)
Bring folding chair, grandpa, grandma and children. No charge for
admission. Rest rooms available one block away. The Better Hometown
Committee of the Downtown Development Authority will sell hot dogs,
popcorn, soft drinks and water to benefit our projects. Door prizes
given away. Performers include bluegrass bands from the area including
Joe & Melanie Johnson Band, Randolph County Bluegrass, Little Creek, and
others. The concert moves inside in the event of bad weather. As MC,
the world renowned personality and noted actor, Lowell White, adds spice
to the program with side-splitting family humor.

Hope you'll join the fun this Saturday, October 4th, beginning at
8:00 a.m. with the city-wide yard sale throughout Tallapoosa, including
the "White House", the home of Lowell & Jo Anne White at the corner of
East Side Drive and Woodland Brook Drive, just down the hill from
Crossroads Restaurant. After the sale enjoy the bluegrass pickin' of
Randolph County and Lost & Found bands along with a bean & cornbread
supper. The bean supper costs just a few bucks and goes toward our
projects in the Better Hometown program of the Downtown Development
Authority. The supper and Possum Begin at 7:00 p.m. on Head Avenue,
Tallapoosa. Looking forward to seeing you Saturday!
