The November 13, 2006 meeting of the Haralson County Historical Society was called to order by President Karen Higgins. Jana Gentry gave the Treasurer's report. Our balance was $10,216.07. The minutes from the October 9, 2006 meeting were read. The motions were made and seconded, with unanimous votes for both, to accept both reports as read. The following 15 people were present:

Old Business: The purchase of the Wade house has been made. The balance due is $43,000.00.
The mail carriage has been rescued. It is being evaluated.
After some discussion the motion was made and seconded, with a unanimous vote, to accept the Policy Statement on Affirmation of Repository of Historical Documents at the Haralson County Historic Court House.
The historic well pump from the court house grounds has been returned to us.
The Smithsonian Exhibit application has been sent off.
Dr. Stan Deaton may not be available till March or April.
New Business: We discussed a Georgia Genealogical Society membership for $30.00. The motion was made and seconded with a unanimous vote to join.
We also discussed joining the Georgia Humanities Council for $100.00. The motion was also made and seconded with a unanimous vote to join.
Greg Poteet is planning to market the courthouse for us by designing a brochure for us-tri-fold, four-color, pictures, etc.
We discussed the purchase of shelving.
We are planning a clean-up day in January.
We talked about the importance of long distance for the courthouse. Is it necessary? This was tabled till January or February.
After discussion the motion was made and seconded, with a unanimous vote, to purchase an all-in-one printer, copier, fax, scanner.
We discussed the plans for the Festival of Trees. The motion was made and seconded, with a unanimous vote, to give a $50.00 prize to the People's Choice Award winner.
We also made the motion and second, with a unanimous vote, to donate $50.00 to Beth Frizbee so her class can go on a field trip.
