GMD 702- has always been known as Houston
GMD 761-has always been known as Texas
GMD 779- originally Red Bone, by 1880 it was Enon Grove
GMD 788- has always been known as Franklin
GMD 792- originally Strayhorn, by 1840 it was Black Ankle, and became Centralhatchee by 1900
GMD 938- has always been called Corinth
GMD 987- originally Blue Shin, by 1900 it was Rockalo
GMD 939- originally Africa, by 1880 it was State Line
GMD 1517- Walnut Hill, created about 1895 from parts of 761 and 987
GMD 1657- Glenloch, created in 1907 from part of 792
GMD 1678- Loftin, created in 1909 from part of 987
GMD 1705- Waresville, created about 1915 from parts of 761, 939 and 1517

In 1832 there were 6 militia districts-
693 Corinth
702 Houston
761 Texas
779 Red Bone
788 Franklin
792 Strayhorn.

In the 1840 Census there were 8 militia districts
693 Corinth
702 Houston
761 Texas
779 Red Bone
788 Franklin
792 Strayhorn
938 Corinth
939 Africa.

By the 1850 census
987 Blue Shin was formed, making 9 militia districts.

By the 1900 census
1517 Walnut Hill
was formed and the other militia districts had their name changes:
693 St. Cloud to Cooksville
779 Red Bone to Enon Grove
792 Black Ankle to Centralhatchee
939 Africa to State Line
987 Blue Shin to Rockalo
