Know all men by these presents that I Michael Wilson of said State and
County for divers good causes and Considerations me hereunto moving have
made ordained & appointed and by these presents do make, ordain and appoint
John S. Wilson of the Same County and State aforesaid my true and lawful
Attorney for me and in my name and for my own proper use and benefit to be ?
whatever amount may be due from the pension Office that is due me from my
Fathers service as a revolutionary soldier of William Wilson deceased and
that may be due me and Receive from my Agent At Washington City D.C. and
receipt for the same from my Agent or agents all monies which may be due
from the Pension Office as a revolutionary soldier, And to have use and take
all lawful ways and means in my name or otherwise that may be found
necessary or proper in the execution of this Power of Attorney, To do all
lawful Acts & things or could do were I personally present as fully in every
respect as I myself might or!
 could do were I personally present at the doing thereof, Ratifying and
confirming & by these presents allowing Whatsoever my said Attorney Shall in
my name Lawfully do or cause to be done in & about the promises by virtue of

formerly Mary Ann Osborn both of the County & State aforesaid for divers
good causes & considerations as hereunto moving have nominated Constituted
appointed & by these presents do ordain constitute & appoint Dilmus N. Lyle
& Samuel G. Hunter both of the County & State aforesaid our true & lawful
attornies in fact for us and in our name to ask for sue & demand the
remainder of our seventh part of the estate of John Osborn late deceased of
said County it being the portion to which we the said John C. & Mary Ann are
entitled in the said Estate from Priscilla Osborn Admx. & Benjamin Maning
Admr. of said Estate and to further empower an attornies in fact as
aforesaid to give full final receipts for such Share or amount while they
may to receive or collect & to as fully ratify & confirm all lawful acts by
them done in the premises or in & about said business in any way as if we
were personally present at th!

This indenture made this 22nd of January in the year of our Lord One
Thousand eight Hundred & fifty Two between Ira Jarrett of the one part and
John Anglin of the other part both of Same County and State aforesaid,
witnesseth that the said Ira Jarrett for and in consideration of the Sum of
Fifty Dollars to him in hand paid as and before the sealing and delivery of
these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath granted
bargained sold and conveyed and doth by these presents grant bargain sell &
convey unto the said John Anglin his heirs & assigns all the Tract or parcel
Land situate lying & being in the county aforesaid on the waters of North
Oconee river bounded as follows Beginning at Pine Corner thence N.W. to pine
Corner thence S.W. to sasafras Stake corner thence S.E. to poplar corner
N.E. to the beginning corner adjoining Lands of Williamson & Davis & others
Containing Twenty Acres more or less - To have & to hold said Tract or
parcel of Land unto him the!
 said John Anglin his heirs & assigns together with all and singular the
rights members and appurtenances thereof to the Same in any manner belonging
to his and their own proper use & benefit & behoof, forever in fee simple, -
And the said Ira Jarrett for himself, his heirs executors & administrator
the said bargained premises unto the said John Anglin his heirs and assigns
will warrant and forever defend the right and Title thereof, against
themselves against the claim of all other persons Whatever.  In Witness

This indenture made this first day of April in the year of our Lord eighteen
hundred and fifty One between Cornelius M. Shockley of the state and County
aforesaid duly Constituted administrator of the estate of John T. Goodman
late of said State and County deceased of the one part and William S.
Shockley of the same place of the other part.  Witnessed that ? by virtue of
an order granted by the honorable Inferior Court of said County ? sitting
for ordinary purposes previous of Application having been given agreeably to
the Statute in such case made and provided on the first Monday in May 1849
to said Cornelius M. Shockley administrator as aforesaid to sell a Tract of
Land belonging to the estate of said deceased situate lying & being in the
County aforesaid.  On middle Oconee River Containing Three hundred and
seventy eight acres more or less, butting and bounding as follows  Beginning
at a poplar on the River Thence 122 W.82 chains & fifty links to a W. Oak
thence S.74? E. !
3 chains & 30 links to a R.? Oak thence 52 W.8 chains & 50 links to a stake
thence N.70 W. 1 chain to a Hickory Thence S.54 W. 12 chains to a Hickory
thence S.36? E 16 chains & 50 links to a B. guin? on the branch thence down
the branch S 60 W. 7 chains to an Oak on the Creek thence up the meanders of
Buffalo Creek to a Persimmon thence N.16 E. 27 chains 40 links to a stake
thence N. 74 E. 32 chains 50 links to a stake thence E 44 chains to an Iron
wood on the River thence down the Meanders of the River to the Beginning
Poplar with the rights members and appurtenances thereto belonging, after
the said Tract of Land was duly advertised in conformity to law the same was
put up and exposed to sale subject to the widow's dower to the highest
bidder at the door of the Court House at Jefferson in said County within the
legal hours of sale on the first Tuesday in May last past by said Cornelius
M. Shockley administrator as aforesaid Then said Tract of Land was Knocked
off to said !
William S. Shockley at the price or sum of Three hundred Dollars he being
the highest and best bidder.  Now for and in consideration of the said sum
of Three hundred Dollars cash in hand paid to said Cornelius M. Shockley
administrator as aforesaid by him the said William S. Shockley at and before
the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby
acknowledged said Cornelius M. Shockley administrator as aforesaid hath
granted bargained & sold & by these presents doth grant bargain & sell unto
the William S. Shockley his heirs executors administrators and assigns the
said Tract of Land with all the rights members & appurtenances thereto
belonging or in any wise appertaining unto him said William S. Shockley his
heirs executors administrators & assigns to his & their own proper use
benefit & behooves forever in fee simple.  In Witness whereof said Cornelius
M. Shockley administrator as aforesaid hath hereunto set his hand & affixed

"This indenture made this the eleventh day of January in the year of Our
Lord One thousand eight hundred and ten, between John Wright of the County
of Jackson & State aforesaid of the one part, and James Harrison Senior &
John H. Harrison of the State of South Carolina of the other part  Witnessed
that Whereas divers disputes and unhappy differences have arisen, for some
time past between the said John Wright and Jean his Wife formerly Jean
(Harrison) of South Carolina, insomuch that the said Jean hath by and with
the directions Consent and approbation of him the Said John Wright, her said
Husband lived as Sole and Separate from the Said John Wright and at her Own
expense without Charging with, or engaging her Said Husband in any Debt or
debts whatsoever, for her maintenance and subsistence and whereas the Said
John Wright, for the further encouragement, or Continuance of the Said Jean
his Wife as Sole and separate livening is Content willing & desirous that the
Said Jean hi!
s Wife shall not only have keep and enjoy all & every the estate goods &
Chattels, Household furniture, Stock & all other Commodities whatsoever, as
well as real Estate, which She or any Other person or persons in trust for
her may hath or have, or hereafter Shall have, or be possessed of, but also
all Other estates real or personal whatsoever, which She the Said Jean,
Shall Obtain or acquire or which by any Gift, devise or bequeath She the
Said Jean or the Said John Wright, her Executors or Administrators might or

and Separate use of her the Said Jean and her assigns - Now this Indenture
further Witnessed, that as well for the Consideration aforesaid, as for and
in Consideration of the Sum of fifty Dollars to the Said John Wright, by the
Said James Harrison Senior & John H. Harrison in hand well and truly paid,
the receipt whereof the said John Wright doth hereby acknowledge - He the

Harrison Senior & John H. Harrison the following property, Viz  One Negro
Woman named Jinny, one other Negro Woman named Bella, One Other Negro Woman

saddle and ?, four Cows and Calves & two Feather Beds and furn.  To have and
to hold, all and Singular the property last aforesaid, with their & every of

forever without any Lawful Suit, trouble hindrance - molestation action or
interception whatsoever, of him the Said John Wright his Executors

trust nevertheless to the sole and separate use of the Said Jean & at the
only sole and separate disposal - And the Said John Wright doth hereby for
himself his Executors, Administrators & assigns - covenant promise and
Grant, to and with the said James Harrison Senior & John H. Harrison their
Executors & Administrators that it shall and may be Lawful to for them &
the Survivor of them or the Executors or Administrators of such survivors of
them, at all or any time or times hereafter, to take have and receive all &
every the hereby  granted bargained and assigned property & that it shall
and may be Lawful to & for them the said James Harrison Snr. & John H..
Harrison their Executors & Administrators & the Survivor of them from time
to time & at all times hereafter, to pay and deliver to the Said Jean or her
assigns, all such Estate real or personal, & other the hereby granted and
assigned property - & the benefit advantage & the proceeds thereof to her
sole & separate use, freed and discharged of and from any disturbance Claim
or demand of and from the Said John Wright, her Executors & Admistrators &
assigns, or any person or persons Whatsoever  A!
nd further the said John Wright doth hereby Covenant promise and Grant, to
and with the said James Harrison Senior & John H. Harrison Trustees as
aforesaid, that the said John Wright, his Executors & Administrators shall

duly Executed by her, to give away and dispose of  all or any such Estate
real or personal hereby assigned or intent? mentioned or intended to be
hereby assigned & that such Will Testament or Other deed, shall be good and
available in Law, the consent of the said John Wright being hereby declared
thereto - except too small negroes by the name of Edy & Greene before
mentioned, the Children of the Negro Woman named Cornelia aforesaid, which
are by these presents set over and given to Harriet Wright daughter of the
said John Wright & the said Jean to take affect and be enjoyed at her
arriving at full age !
or marriage And if the said Harriet should die before arriving at full age
or marriage then the said Negroes Edy & Greene shall descend belong and
revert to her two brothers or the survivor of them, Viz. Thomas & James
Wright & further that the said James Harrison Senior & John H. Harrison
Trustees as aforesaid and the survivor of them in the name of the said John
Wright shall & may Lawfully ask, demand, sue for, and recover & receive of
any person or persons whatsoever all and singular Such Estate real or
personal, and all the hereby Granted and assigned Estate except as before
Excepted, to and for the only proper use and behalf of the said Jean and her
assigns, & in the name of the said John Wright & give Receipts releases and
discharges for any said Estate real or personal, & on her recovering
receiving or obtaining the same, or otherwise as to them, the said James
Harrison Senior & John H. Harrison Trustees aforesaid or the Survivor of
them shall seem.? mee. give receipt!
s & acquaintances or other discharges for the Same & further the said John
Wright doth by these presents ratify all and whatsoever the said James
