       Died:  May 9, 1918, Jackson County, Ga.

       Parents:  William James Doster and Sarah Roberts

       Married: Elizabeth Jane Phillips November 16, 1866 Jackson County, Ga.

       Profession of Faith:  Baptist

       Military History:  Co. H 43rd, Ga. Infantry, Vol. Jackson Co. Blues.  Ga./Rosters of the Confederate Soldiers states Elisha Tandy Doster, Pvt. March 10, 1862 surrender at Greensboro.  July 11, 1863.  Infirmity and Poverty.  Greensboro, N.C. home on furlough (P.O.W.) Contracted diseases, heart and spinal infections.  His health remained poor after the war. 

       His obituary states that he was a brave Soldier and fought valiantly for his country.  He was the father of 8 children.  April 19, 1893 Elisha (Uncle Tandy as people referred to him) was also on the building committee for the White Plains Church.  He attended the Confederate Memorial Dedication on the square of Downtown Jefferson in 1911 hosted by the U.D.C. of Jefferson.  He lived all of his life except during the War between the States in Jackson Co., Ga.  His occupation was farmer and planter.
