The list mode and means you will receive each message individually as opposed to (-D ) digest mode in which you will receive several messages combined into one. Users can subscribe to only one of these two modes using a single e-mail address. If you wish to receive both individual messages and digest messages, you must do so using two different e-mail addresses.
To switch from one mode to the other, unsubscribe from one and then
subscribe to the other. If you want messages to stop, you should simply unsubscribe.

You should always turn off HTML or RTF if your email is set for it when
writing the list.
