Reuben Harrison Pierce, son of James H. Pierce of NH, born 13 Oct 1812 in Edgefield Dist., SC and Sarah Baker, daughter of Silas Baker, born 6 Oct 1815 in GA, married 15 Dec 1836 in Hall Co., GA. Reuben was a school teacher and a represtentative of Lumpkin County to the State General Assembly 1851-52. Sarah died1886 at Pope County, AR and Reuben died 24 Aug 1890 at Marion County. AR. Reuben's sister, Elizabeth (Pierce) Russell was the mother of the famous Russell brothers who found gold in Colorado in 1858 and started the Pikes Peak Gold Rush.
