Cyntha (Caven) Martin

     Cynthia Caven was married in Jackson Co., GA to Milton Martin.   They are found living in Lumpkin County by 1838.   On the 1850 and 1860 censuses of Lumpkin Co., Cyntha is shown as head of household with several children.   Milton had gone to the goldfields in Placer Co., CA.   It is not known when Milton died or whether he ever returned to Georgia.   He is shown on the Lumpkin Co. tax lists owning land in Lumpkin Co. up through 1865, then afterwards, Sintha is shown on the tax lists as owner of this land.
