(Ref: Wilkes County, Georgia Tax Records, 1785-1805 by Frank Parker Hudson) For this reason, I feel that the early records of Wilkes County, Franklin County, Jackson County and Elbert County are of interest to Madison County researchers. While I have only a few truly Madison county sources at this time, remember that the early years of this territory was in Wilkes county.
On this page you will find the beginnings of a listing of Resources that may be valuable
to you in your research of your ancestors in Madison Co., Georgia. You will also find a listing of volunteers and the resources they are willing to check for you. Because of our desire to comply with the GAGenWeb Policy concerning look ups, we ask that you follow the following simple rules when asking for help.
GAGenWeb will not tolerate any copyright violations. Lookup requests
should be limited to one name, or perhaps two if it is a married
couple. Information given will be minimal, for example if it is a
cemetery lookup, the information will be the name of the cemetery and the
dates on the headstone. Please do not ask for "everybody with X
surname" or an entire family group, or for hardcopies to be mailed; the
volunteers have been asked not to comply with such requests.
Our lookups will extend to searching the book to determine if the
book would be helpful to you in your research. Should the book prove
useful, we may be able to provide the authors address and ordering information.
