Cuthbert/Bryan/Francis Family History - McIntosh County, GA.
Getting ready for family reunion & looking to update info on ancestors,
who were african-american. My mother & her twin Marion Francis &
Marie Francis were born on "The Ridge" and lived there. They also lived in
Carneghan, McIntosh County. Their parents were Joseph & Lue Ida Francis.
Lue Ida was from the Bryan family.
Mother = Leah "Leria" Bryan - born 3/1882. She died in Carneghan.
Leria - daughter of Pompey Bryan(t) - born 10/1856. Died 5/9/1936 in
Meridien, GA. He worked at one point as stevedore.

Pompey's father = Grovner or Grovnor Bryan - born 1840 in McIntosh Cty.,GA.
Mary E. Cuthbert's father = Ishmael Cuthbert - born 1830 in GA.
That's the Bryan side of my family. Now the Francis side, which seems
to be more familiar to folk.
Joseph Francis - born 4/17/1905 in GA and died 10/27/1972 in McIntosh
Mother = Mary McMichael - born 1882 in Georgia (Most say she came from
Sapelo and was a mulatto. Prince met her on Sapelo, where he worked).
Father = Prince Francis - born 1876 in GA & died on the Ridge.
Father = Randall or Randolph Francis - born in Florida.
Mother = Catherine Elverson Francis - born ? died in Ridgeville, GA.
She delivered my mother & her twin in 1926. She was a popular mid-wife.
She also had a daughter Ellen Francis Harris who took over mid-wife business.
