My great-grandfather was John Taplin Hatcher and is buried at Pleasant Grove Church in Mitchell
County. My great-great grandfather was Needham Hatcher and is buried at Mt Enid Church which is
on Stage Coach Road in Mitchell County. I have documentation showing that Needham Hatcher
bought land in Mitchell county 7/14/1883 (lot 80) 9th district. This is currently where my family
lives. I am trying to find out who Needham R Hatcher's father was so I can find out when my family
came to this area. I believe they came from the Edgefield South Carolina area in the early 1800's.
If anyone has any information on this please send.

Searching for descendants od Columbus Mullins and his wife T. A. Adaline Mount. Both were born
about 1875 and were from Coffee Co., AL. In 1915 the newspaper in Elba AL mentions that Adaline
Mullins was living in Pelham Ga. Columbus Mullins is the son of Andy Mullins and Margaret Taylor.
I am searching the Taylor genealogy.

Hi my nane is James T Godwin and I have been working on my ggggrandfather Alexander Godwin,
for several years. He and a brother Steve, blazed the Hawthorne Trail with Elder William Hawthorne
in 1818. Alexander Married Elizabeth Yawn 12-7-1828 they had ten (10) children. I have complete
information of there descents. up to my grand children. Also I have a copy of the State of North
Caralina,District of Wilmington, Court of Equity.May Term, on David Godwin married to Ann Godwin.
He was killed in 1781, at Elizabeth N.C. He was a Captain in the British Army.

I am searching for census data or other information about John Sellers who was born in Baker
County, Ga in 1850. The only John Sellers that I can find, with the appropriate age, is John
Sellers on the 1870 Mitchell County census. To verify that this is the correct John Sellers
I need the census data for 1860 and 1870 for Mitchell County showing all residents. There is
a possibility that John moved in with some other family and may be listed with a different
named family. The 1870 Mitchell County Ga, page 6 shows a John Sellers but I do not have the
family listing. I understand that Mitchell County was created from Baker County and that
could be the reason for John Sellers appearing on the 1870 Mitchell County census.
I appreciate any help offered. I have family data on John Sellers and wife Sarahan Kelly
(Decatur County, Ga) to include all of John's sister's and brother. I am willing to share
this info with anyone searching this family line.

but I don't have a clue where they originally came from or what plantation they were on.

I am researching my great-grandmother, Sophronia Eudora PARKER, born 1857 in Mitchell County.
She was the daughter of Garrett PARKER and Sarah HAYES. Sophronia married William Henry
LASSETER about 1877. They lived in Decatur Co, Lowndes Co., and later moved to Dallas, TX.
Garrett Parker lived near Camilla, was a landowner, harvested and milled lumber. He was
also a minister and built a church with wood from his mill. The church burned down and was
replaced by a brick structure and may still exist.
Any information that you have would be appreciated.

I am researching a William Henry COLLINS b. 1783 and is listed as one of the original settlers
of Mitchell County. He was originally from North Carolina. His first wife is unknown although
we know where her grave is but her headstone has been misssing for many years. Her family would
like to rectify that but needs to know her name. He had 4 children with his first wife, James
T. b. NC, William b. NC, Charles Wellington b. 23 Nov 1835, Mitchell Cty, GA, m. Susan Tyus
d. 20 July 1901, and Margaret Ann b. 1837. His second wife was Elizabeth W. William eventually
moved to Dooley Cty but his family stayed behind and lived in Mitchell County for generations,
some still reside there. Does anyone have a suggestion as to how to find her identity? I am also
trying to determine where in NC he is from. Would land records tell this? Where would I look? Thanks!

Seeking information about the family of Mary Ann POLLOCK b. abt 1841, probably in Georgia.
She married Charles A. BOSTICK b. abt 1835. The couple had several children and the family is
on record in several Mitchell Co. GA census reports. One of thier children was a daughter, Mollie
Lee BOSTICK (1873-1939) who married James Elijah CROSSON (1878-1963). J.W. and Mollie
Bostick CROSSON are both buried in Union Cemetery in Mitchell Co., GA. Information on any of these

We would appreciate any information on Arminta Mothershed White, widow of Andrew J. White, who moved
from Cherokee County, Georgia, to Mitchell County after 1904. She had at least three children--Emily,
Mack (Malcolm?), and Huey Longstreet White. We would like to know the full names of Emily and Mack,
and any information about any other children. Emily married Charles M. Burtz. Her gravestone in
Akridge Cemetary reads "Emily White Burtz, Sept. 28, 1856--Feb. 18, 1936." We would
appreciate any information on the family.
