STUBBS FAMILY REUNION
By Sara Jane Overstreet, Church Historian, Inman United Methodist, Fayette County, GA
August 7 & 8, 2009
Descendents of William Stubbs Sr., Revolutionary Soldier of Marlboro County SC, will gather at Indian Spring, Butts County GA for a reunion of all branches and racial identities the weekend of August 7 and 8, 2009. About 1828, several children and grandchildren of William Stubbs, Sr. came to Inman in family groups. Pioneers included Martha Patsy Stubbs (with husband Elisha Hill), William Stubbs Jr. (wife Sarah Ikenor), and grandson Henry Stubbs (son of Bob Stubbs and we think Bob Stubbs came to Inman). Local families that we know from this line include and are not limited to Stubbs, Hill, Luncford, Harp, Story, Henderson, and others we would like to find.
We would like to rejoice in our kinship and share more genealogical information. Please join us. Local contacts for information include Sara Jane Overstreet at 770 401 1203 or Stanley Blackburn at 404 363 8148. Registration due ASAP for planning purposes includes 2 meals and a T-Shirt costing $58 sent to Stubbs/Berry Reunion, c/o Lanny Starr, 2195 County Road 239, Centre, AL 35960. The registration fee covers a T-Shirt (go ahead and tell Mr. Starr what size you want), 2 meals, Indian Springs, park admission, activities and materials. Ages 75 and older are free, while we do ask that you register and give us your T-shirt size for your complementary reunion meals and packets.
