I am looking for the parents of Edmond Dorsey (1811-1893) who lived in Newton County, GA. He was married to (1) Martha Hood and then to (2) Lucy Lumsden July 15, 1839. He had sons named Joel Dorsey, William C., Hezekiah Cornelius ( my great grandfather, who married Nan I. Ellis and moved to Texas in 1880's)to name just a few. If anyone has any info on the DORSEY, LUMSDEN, or ELLIS families who lived in Georgia, I would like to hear from you. I would like to exchange information with Reeves/Reaves researchers. My great grandfather, Thompson Reaves was in Newton Co. Ga. in 1830 census. An associated line had a Pryor Reeves in Newton Co. in the same year. There were no doubt others. At other times members of the Reeves family were in Walton Co. Ga. I am looking for descendants of a Turner family that lived in Henry Co. Ga on the border of Newton Co.in the 1830's and migrated to the Pike/Meriwether co. Ga in the 1840's with many members migrating to other parts of GA and on westward as time went on. The first of the group in Henry co. was Edward Turner b 1778 SC died 1865 Pike Co. Ga. Edward's known children are: James C. b 1800 m Nancy unknown (mine); Elisha b 1803 m Lucinda Wesley in Newton Co.GA; Absalom b 1806 m Mary Glass in Pike Co. GA; Shadrach b 1808 m Elizabeth Brantley in Jasper Co. GA; Daniel Clark b 1820 m Rebecca Meador Harris in Pike Co. GA; Edward C. b 1821 m Martha Lewis in Pike Co. GA. James C's children are: Wade H. b 1825 m Mary Meadows Whatley; Alethia Ann b 1826 m William Harris; Jacob Riley b 1829 m Mary Annis Manley; Green F. b 1830 m Elizabeth Elzira Rhodes in MS; Larkin b 1834 m Patience Carter; John N b 1836 m Nettie S. Looking for information on Thomas Wallis married to Rachel Mitchell, B-1792. They had 9 children. Denney, Josiah, William, Senia, Allie, Miranda, Tom, Sarah, and Isham J.
