MY Interest The Garrett Family of Meriwether County who lived in the Cove community. John W. Garrett was born around 1802-1804 in Virginia. He married Centilla Ivy in 1825 in Pike County, Ga. They lived in Meriwether County by the 1830's. John and Centilla Garrett's children were Amanda Garrett,b. 1829, Charlotty E. Garrett, b. 1831, William B. Garrett, b. 1832, Indianna J. Garrett, b. 1837, John R. Garrett, b. 1838, James R. Garrett , b. 1841, Francis M. Garrett, b. 1842, Thomas S. Garrett, b. 1846, and Elisha M. Garrett, b. 1850. John W. Garrett died in Meriwether Countyon July 16, 1897. Francis Marion Garrett was my gggrandfather. He served in the Confederate Army ( Co. B, 32nd Regt. Talbot County). He married La Dora Fuller on Sept 17, 1873 in Meriwether County. Their children were William Cidney , Chesley Edward( my GGrandfather), Elijah, Clemie, Sarah, Bulah, Pearl. Frankie Mae, and Savannah ( Annie). Francis Marion died in Wilcox County, Ga on March 22, 1915. LaDora Fuller Garrett died on Feb. 24, 1934 in Wilcox County. Ladora Fuller's parents were Seaborn Fuller and Sarah A. Nichols of Meriwether County. I would be interested in exchanging information with anyone interested in these families.
