Nancy (Hendricks) Gladden
My Great grandfather, John Phillip White and Great grandmother, Charity Patience (Gladden) White, are buried at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church cemetery in Polk County (Rockmart). I have been trying to locate the gravesite of Charity's mother (my GGgrandmother), whose name is NANCY (Hendricks) GLADDEN. Nancy was married to Hosea M. Gladden in 1850 in Cleveland County, NC. Hosea was killed in the civil war on April 24, 1864 in the battle of Plymouth, NC at age of 35. Nancy was born 1828 in Cleveland County, NC. I have been told that my Great Grandfather, John Phillip White, met Charity Gladden in Murray County, GA and that they were married in 1872 in Polk County, GA. I haven't been able to confirm this info on how they met and when they married. But I have visited their grave sites and noticed the grave next to Charity has a marker with the name, NANNY GLADDEN, WIFE OF H GLADDEN, marked on this stone. Both of their stones are identical. The death date on Nanny Gladden's stone is May 6, 1903. Could this be Nancy Gladden's grave? Could should have been called "Nanny" by her family instead of Nancy and perhaps that could be how her name on the stone came about??
Any info you can come up with would certainly be appreciated.
