November 27, 1880
Cedartown, November 24---On yesterday afternoon Captain Prendergast, a
machinist in the employ of the iron Company, while at work was stricken down
with paralysis, and up to late in the afternoon was unable to speak. The
report is current to day that the attending physicians entertain little hope
---Dr. Richardson's horse attached to his buggy, ran away on yesterday,
making kindling wood of the buggy, but doing no damage to the animal. (The
