J.R. Stevens & Co. inform the Rome Courier that Mr. Wm. Peek, living two
miles from Cedartown, in Polk county, has sold two hundred and fifty acres
of his home tract, with very indifferent improvements on it, for twenty-five
thousand dollars or one hundred dollars per acre, and that he was
negotiating with another party for the sale of an additional two hundred and
fifty acres, of the same place, without improvements, at eighty dollars per
acre. (The Constitution, Atlanta, GA, June 23, 1869)
