{1} Note received from Frances Kennedy Bundy - "Thanks greatly for listing the Business Directory of Augusta, GA for 1859.... One of the Stores, Clayton & Kennady (Kennedy, now) was my family's store. My Great-grandfather, Captain William Hamilton Kennedy, of Williston, SC, Barnwell County used to work there as a very young boy. This store was operated by two of his uncles. He consequently set up the first Merchantile in Williston. Thanks for all the work and those who contributed this material!"
