The largest achievement to date has been the erection of a beautiful monument to Gwinnett's
Confederate Heroes on the grounds of the Gwinnett Historic Courthouse in Lawrenceville.
This Monument was dedicated with an impressive ceremony on 12 September 1993 and was
well attended by members of the SCV and local dignitaries along with an enthusiatic audience
of well wishing citizens. Ms. Elizabeth Roberson was the featured speaker.

On 3 March 1999, the Major William Simmons Camp 96 gave the State of Georgia $7,000.00
toward the cost to restore the Battle Flag of the 42nd Georgia Volunteer Infantry Regiment.
The Flag was never Captured nor surrendered.
