Other information
This cemetery holds the graves of a founding
family of Thomas County, Georgia. The family is very well known and is
mentioned in historical/genealogical documents both published and not
published. I have called the city/county as well as local historical
groups and no one seems to be interested or able/willing to take the
responsibility for its care. I can't clean the cemetery myself because I
live out of town. The city/county states that it is not responsible for
its care because it was created and maintained as a family cemetery.
Despite the situation, many genealogists are interested in the clean up
of the cemetery. The fact that many interested parties live out of town
can be attributed to its bad condition.
