Petition for Homestead

Georgia Spalding County

            To the ordinary of said county. The petition of Nancy F. Ogletree showeth that she is the widow of Benjamin F. Ogletree late of said county deceased that she has three children under sixteen years old Is the head of a family she attached hereto a schedule of personal property with the description of the real estate belonging to her deceased husband upon whose estate no administration has been granted all of which said personal property and land she claims to be exempt from levy and sale under the homestead law of said state and should be set apart under said law for the benefit of herself and children and your petitioner prays that your honor will grant an order directed to the county surveyor of said county to lay off a homestead out of the lands of her deceased husband for herself & children in terms of the law in such cases made and provided thereto the proper notice of the application be published Nov. 10^th 1868
