You are hereby authorize to join James D. Garrison and Martha E. Elmore in
the Holy State of Matrimony according to the Constitution and Laws of this
State and for so doing this shall be your License. And you are
hereby required to return this License to me, with your Certificate hereon
of the fact and date of the Marriage.

Additional Comments:
Martha Emma Elmore was the 2nd wife of James D. Garrison. He was married
1st to her older sister, Hannah South Carolina Elmore, on January 4, 1866
in Coweta Co., Georgia. Hannah died March 13, 1872 leaving James with 4
young children, including 5 month old twin boys. James and Martha did not
have any children of their own.
Martha spent most of her life in the Senoia / Haralson area of Coweta Co.,
Georgia. However, she and her unmarried sister, Permelia (Nancy Camilia
Elmore), are living with their married sister, Sarah F. (Elmore) Pate, in
the Line Creek area of Spalding Co. Georgia. The Elmore girls were the
children of Giles Elmore (6 March 1800-19 December 1856) and his 2nd wife,
Amy (Morgan) Elmore (25 March 1811-22 May 1858).
