FYI:  Ellis Road in Griffin got its name because it ran through the properties of William and James T. Ellis. Both were buried on the property (cemetery which is definitely in a state of disrepair is in a stand of trees in the middle of one of the GA Experiment Station farms off Ellis Road).

William M. Blanton's property was on Blanton Mill Road south of Griffin; his original homeplace (established about 1845) was still occupied by Blanton's until his granddaughter, Miss Sarah Blanton died (about 1995) at the age of 95 or 96. The Blanton Cemetery is in back of the antebellum structure.
