Sardis

Located in the Flint Hill District on the Northwest side of Talbot County, this community came into existence around 1828, and the Methodist Church was organized there soon afterward. Sardis was a fast growing community, surrounded by large plantations.  The pioneer Methodist preacher, Leonard Rush moved to Sardis in 1836 and lived here until he died in 1897.
